Why does Sri Lanka need attention as much as Ukraine?

I am a citizen of Sri Lanka and currently living here in Sri Lanka. I am writing this to show how a middle-class person survives now.

We do not have essential items to buy for survival. Gas, Diesel, Petrol, Milk Powder, Electricity and other essential items. With these shortages and high demand, you can see a lot of queues here.

Yesterday I was in a Gas queue for more than three hours. However, I survived getting a gas cylinder. But it is so sad to say, old people have been dead due to dehydration in the queues. Following is an image I took while I was in the queue.

Govt has added army troops to stop people from dying in the sheds now. There are so many queues for diesel. I have seen vehicles, tippers, buses, etc, are parked near sheds waiting for diesel. The next most important thing is electricity. We do not have electricity for 13 hours a day. It’s hard to bear all these things. I am a worker in the IT industry, So I know how much electricity problems affect our industry including myself. Most freelancers are having trouble completing their deadlines and get bad reviews for what they have built for a lifetime. Also, the buyers who give jobs to freelancers are reluctant to give Sri Lankans work due to unpredictable situations. People like me who are working for a company have bought UPSs for routers and laptops and trying to survive in this situation. Some are planning to have solar systems to have electricity. Some have already bought generators. But Generators won’t work in the future because of the diesel problem. So people are screwed and stressed. It is a very hard time being here right now.

Also, there are rumors that we are going to face medicine shortages sooner. This will be the worst case. People will die without medicine. Also following is an image from social media, it shows how surgeries are done at the moment with no electricity.
