Build Your MQTT Broker in CloudMQTT

Ihave been working with IoT and data applications based on machine-to-machine communication for years. Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) is one of popular and mature protocols in efficient transport for two-way messaging between “things” and services.

CloudMQTT is a globally distributed MQTT broker, designed for “Internet of Things” messaging between low power sensors or mobile devices. Just like CloudKafka, there are different animal plans (paid plans) to create your own message brokers.

Two regions of AWS data center (US-East-1 and EU-West-1) areoffered now in free plan.

CloudMQTT provides dashboard to manange brokers (more screen shots in the bottom of this article) . However, in free plan, there are only few features we can access.

However, there is only a small part which may make beginners feel confused about environment variables for connection information. You can get those information in the instance “Details” page.

You can also use Websocket UI to see the message content and send a message.
