A loyal friend to time

Open wide, say, “ah.”
There’s still some life
in your pearl-like eyes
and something better yet.

You’re a voice inside
that’s tasted through life.
Wrinkled face disguise;
a loyal friend to time.

Memories you keep
locked with your teeth,
like a catchy song
you hum on repeat.

And though dark needs light,
silence proves right,
there’s no need to fight.
No man is the light.

Less afraid to die,
your eyes lose sight.
Still, you shine some light.
I’ll see you later.
